Comments:

After NHS was 4 years at William & Mary, and upon graduation I did some graduate work at PSU, where I caught up with Paul, Jerry & Dean, among others. We had many good times together in those days. But I was quickly drafted for a couple of years in the Army. Most of my time was with the U.S. Army Computer System Command at Fort Hood, TX (yes, I missed going to Viet Nam), and on many weekends I traveled to Dallas to hang with Jerry. I'll let him tell the tales, but it was a lot of fun.

Eventually finished up my masters at PSU in Computer Science, and tired of the cold and snow, I headed West to
California in 1971 and have basically been here ever since.

During '73 & '74 I traveled throughout the US, Europe & Northern Africa doing my hippie thing, and the highlight was meeting my future wife in Spain. Betty eventually met up me again in California, and we've been married ever since with one son who is about to graduate from UCRiverside.

After 30 years as an independent computer consultant throughout California, selling my soul to the highest corporate bidder, I was semi-retired as a substitute teacher for a couple of years. However with my son's acceptance at the UCR, I was obligated to work again full-time; substitute teaching pays next to nothing out here. So I took a permanent position with Teradata Corporation, the world's dominant data warehouse supplier, with the idea of working 5 years to become fully vested (and my son graduating in those 5 years, which is still in doubt). One year until retirement, and so looking forward to it.

As far as hobbies, I am an avid amateur photographer (with a couple shots published) and still like to get out into the wilderness. For many years I was active with the Sierra Club, being a web master and leading groups into our local mountains and the Southern Sierras. But age is catching up, and with mountain climbing definitely over and hiking greatly reduced, my preference these days is river rafting. In fact on the day of our 45th reunion I will on the Colorado River in the middle of a 9-day trip with a bunch of friends. I will raise a beer in your honor that evening.
