Barry wasn't even 50 when he left us, 15 years ago. We'd hung around together from Carl Sandberg's 8th grade 'til he left; we talked by 'phone, when we lived hundreds (or thousands) of miles apart. A true tale: Barry, Bruce Newman and I decided to cut school one day and go to American Bandstand, in Philly, at 46th & Market. We parked the car we were driving near the Frankford El. and took the el to about 46th & Market, got into the Bandstand crowd and into the TV-studio. About 30-40 minutes into the live show, Bruce was among those chosen for a "spotlight-dance", where only 3 couples would be dancing on-camera. In the Neshaminy "teachers' lounge" American Bandstand was the show the lounge's occupants happened to be watching. Upon seeing Bruce in the spotlight-dance, someone saw that on the daily "absentee-sheet" were Bruce, Barry and me. The next day we were "suspended from school" for 3 days by the universally-hated Dr. Kenneth King. Hoo-yah!
For many years Barry and I played on the same baseball teams that lost innumerable games, but we had great summers together none-the-less. I especially remember a couple of summers walking back and forth with Barry to hang out at the Levittown pool with so many of you. A great friend!
Just saw Barry left us, I will never forget the night we all raided the girls dorm at George School, and we all got caught and had to wait for our parents to pick us up at Middletown Police station after midnight, they were not happy.

I still miss him very much. His son and daughter are almost grown. I'm sure they would make Barry proud
