Whitey and I were classmates at both Queen of the Universe and NHS. Whitey had gone to Bishop Egan first and then transferred over. We were on several baseball teams together and he was a wonderful guy. I often think of him, Lee Clickner and Jay Dunlap '64 who all gave the ultimate sacfice for our country. I seem to recall the story of his passing in Viet Nam. He was a helicopter pilot in the Army and had already served one tour in Viet Nam. He left the service but then re-enlisted --- went back to 'Nam for a second tour and lost his life. I believe he was married and had several young children. A real tragedy.

Apparently Mark should have a flag after his name.  It is the least that should be done.

I didn't know Mark "Whitey" (Hair Color) very well. He came over from Bishop Egan.

I read the report of his passing. He was killed when his helicopter crashed. It is listed as an accident. At the time he was a Captain.      More waste.

A flag should be by his name
